What
The Monkeys is Tanque Verde Lutheran Church Preschool’s Afternoon Enrichment Program. Our program provides a way to extend your child’s preschool experience. It is a structured class with many opportunities for choices. Your child enjoys lunch together with his/her friends and participates in an afternoon of fun and social development as well as opportunities for cognitive growth and play. The program is literature-based and each day a new book is presented to the children.
Who
All children currently enrolled in the Three (Bunnies), Four (Giraffes), and Pre-K (Owls) classes can take advantage of this special afternoon enrichment program. Children in the morning classes can attend on their school days (directly after class) or come in on non-school days. Children in our afternoon classes are welcome to attend on their non-school days.
When
There is a Monkeys session every day (Monday-Friday) that preschool is in session.
Where
The Monkeys room is located in the center of the Education Building. You can bring your child directly to the Monkeys room at 11:30 a.m. if your child is not currently in class. If your child is in a morning class that day, their teacher will bring him/her directly to the Monkeys room at the conclusion of their class.
Lunch
Your child brings his/her own lunch, which should include a drink. We are unable to refrigerate or heat up food; pack an ice pack if needed. Please be sure your child’s lunch box is clearly labeled with their name. Remember: We are a NO PEANUT BUTTER AND NUT SCHOOL.
Why
This class offers more opportunities for reading, literature, art, music, painting, dancing. This class allows more flexibility for families that need or want more afternoon class time. Preschool enrichment activities include more cognitive opportunities, socialization, and development of small and large motor skills.
How
Space is limited (15 children per day) and on a first come first served basis. To reserve a space for your child in our Monkeys, stop by or call the office, 749-1738. You will be billed for the days your child attends Monkeys. You must cancel by 7:30 a.m. the day of your reservation, otherwise you will be charged for that day. A monthly bill will be sent home with your child. You may include your Monkeys payment along with your tuition check if you so desire.
